Halloween Pillow Case Dress

So Halloween is coming up and I wanted to share what I made my Daughter and my Niece for HALLOWEEN last year. It was a pillow case dress but I had to modify it quite a lot because I didn't like how it turned out. Here is what it looks like the before and after and the modified parts:

So I bought some black and white poka-dot fabric and made a dress then added a ribbon as the straps and  a bow on the side.
But it looked so plain so I added some ribbon at the bottom also.

Then put it on my daughter and this is what it looked like :)

But it looked poofy and big and i didn't like it, So I cut the bow offthen added some more ribbon to the waist I sewed it to the front in the middle that way I can tie it in the back to make it look titer and less poofy

But it still looked boring so I made a ghost out of felt and sewed it on the bottom corner and made it look a lot cuter.
and sewed a happy face on the ghost also.
I made 2 and also added a orange bow to each ghost to make it more girly
Here is my daughter wearing it with some black leggings.

 This is the Back:

She loves it but the only thing i hate about this project was that after i washed it the orange ribbon with white poka-dots washed mostly off :(

But if she cant wear it as a dress this year I guess I can turn it into a shirt :)

Hidden key picture frame

I have been having some problem with my 2 year old locking us out when we go out the back door there is a key that we use to leave in the door but then we just put it on a shelf. It was  noticeable and I don't want Guests being able to see it just laying there or some one misplacing it later so here is what I did.

I bought 2 cute boxes that you keep on your desk and keep memory items in but i didn't want to use them that way so here is what I did. I got them from Micheal's almost a year ago

This is what it looked like when I bought it:

Then I painted it black:

Added my pics and screwed it right to the wall in the bottom of the box:

You cant see the keys but I took some of the command hooks and stuck them to the inside and hung some keys inside that we use rarely and  hung mine up.  I am sending the other one to my sister.  I don't know what she is going to do with hers but I showed her what I did with mine and gave her some other idea to do with it like: Cut the backing out and cover a thermostat with it or a alarm or anything else  Now there up and out of the way from little hands and others eyes :) enjoy
